MCE Management • Commercial • Engineering is engaged to deliver project management services for Infrastructure Canberra on the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Yurauna project and was delighted to assist in the organisation of the ceremonial smoking ceremony and sod turning to mark the commencement of construction of the new CIT Yurauna building at Bruce on 2nd Decemeber 2024.
The ceremony was combined with the launch of CIT’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan and was a fantastic day of celebration.
Yurauna, a Wiradjuri word meaning ‘to grow’, is CIT’s dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Educational Centre of Excellence, offering tailored culturally appropriate courses to improve literacy, numeracy and communication, empowering Indigenous communities and providing vocational training and preservation of culture for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
